This year, we received a record number of applications prior to our soft deadline on February 17th. We have decided to close our application fully for the ‘23-’24 admissions season due to limited capacity for further review of applications past our soft deadline.

MCS RI Admissions Principles

  • We aim to prioritize equity and accessibility at every step of our admissions process.

  • There is a clear opposition between our vision of accessibility with the reality that, due to limited slots, we cannot accept all who apply.

  • We are a grassroots, young, non-profit with limited capacity. We do our best to meet the needs of our community while also being limited by our capacity as a young non-profit with a very small admissions staff.

  • We aim to adapt our admissions process from year to year based on feedback from our community and our commitment to growth as an organization.

MCS RI ADMISSIONS PROCESS

  • IF INQUIRING BEFORE OUR OPEN HOUSE ON NOVEMBER 20TH:

    a) Please RSVP for our open house and join us for our open house event on November 20th, 2022.

    b) Please fill out our inquiry form.

    c) Mark your calendars: Applications will open on December 1st, 2022 (we have delayed the opening of applications due to technical difficulties.) By filling out our inquiry form, you ensure that you will receive the link to our application when applications open on December 1st.

    IF INQUIRING TO APPLY AFTER OUR OPEN HOUSE:

    a) Please fill out our inquiry form.

    b) Mark your calendars: Applications will open on December 1st, 2022. By filling out our inquiry form, you ensure that you will receive the link to our application when applications open on December 1st.

  • If submitting your application before our soft application deadline on February 17th, 2023:

    a) This year, our applications open on December 1st, 2022. Please follow this link (this link will go live on December 1st) to submit your application. You will find the link to submit your financial aid application (if applicable) within the application. You will also be prompted to pay the required application fee ($50). Please note that eligible CCAP applicants do not have to pay the application fee.

    b) Click here to learn more about tuition, fees, and financial assistance. All financial aid materials must be submitted by the soft application deadline to be considered for need-based assistance.

    c) If your child is transferring from another school, please have their teacher fill out the Student History Form and have them email it to info@mcsri.org by February 17, 2023.

    d) If you are applying for Financial Aid, please fill out the Financial Aid Application by February 17, 2023.

    e) Our soft deadline for applications is February 17th, 2023. If you would like us to prioritize your application for review, please make sure you have submitted your application by this date.

    If submitting your application after our soft application deadline on February 17th, 2023:

    a) Follow the same steps listed above in order to apply.

    b) Kindly note: If you submit your application past the soft deadline, your application may or may not be reviewed for admission. This depends on our internal capacity as a small admissions team and whether or not we received enough applications that align with our prioritization of equitable access in our admissions process.

  • a) Mark your calendars: On March 4th, 2023, we open the school to your children for a 30-minute student visit.

    b) Please sign your child up for a slot by navigating to the the appropriate appointment link: Schedule your primary applicant’s visit here.

    c) We require these student visits so that we may observe your child in our school environment. We want to ensure that we have the best resources to serve your child’s learning and development needs.

    d) Kindly note: In order to visit our school, you must have already submitted an application for admission and paid the application fee.

  • a) Mark your calendars: Between December 1st, 2022 and March 29th, 2023 we are opening our school for prospective caregiver/parent visits by appointment only.

    b) Schedule a visit to our school for a tour and to observe our classrooms in action here for prospective toddler families and here for prospective primary families. This is a unique and wonderful opportunity to experience our classroom flow and community. Please note that these visits are specifically for caregivers/parents and childcare is not provided.

    c) Kindly note: In order to visit our school, you must have already submitted an application for admission.

  • a) Mark your calendars: Admissions decisions will be sent out on April 3rd, 2023.

    b) If you receive a letter of acceptance, please let us know by April 14th whether or not you choose to enroll your child.

    c) If you receive a letter that your child has been added to our waiting pool, please know that we will be in contact with you if a spot in our school opens up that meets your child’s needs and the needs of our classrooms (please see our admissions philosophy above for more information.)
